In this exhibit, the visitor watches a short film about mirror neurons, empathy and learning and will discover how these related to emotional contagion.

The mirror neuron system is a set of motor neurons that are activated when we perform an action or when we see someone else perform that same action. It helps us understand the actions of others, which is essential for life in society. Mirror neurons may also be the basis for learning by imitation, an ability that made the development of human culture possible. Where would we be without the contagion of ideas and knowledge?
